Can the GMP dependency be made optional, or can GMP be replaced with a non-LGPL alternative?
I was interested in using Pike in an embedded use case for a commercial application (as allowed under MPL), but it would appear that the hard dependency on the LGPL-licensed libgmp makes this impractical, if not impossible (due to code-signing requirements imposed upon the application embedding Pike and libgmp).
Is it feasible to replace usage of libgmp with a non-LGPL alternative available under a more permissive license that is not more restrictive than the MPL?
It seems that having a hard dependency on an LGPL component mostly defeats the purpose of licensing under MPL, and undermines the claim on the web site that: "Pike is released under the GNU GPL, GNU LGPL and MPL; this means that you can fetch it and use it for almost any purpose you please."
